Tips for Buying Kids' Sports Shoes
Tips for Buying Kids' Sports Shoes
Here are some tips from the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society:
Take your kids to the shoe store after their workout, when their feet are largest.
Try the shoes on with the socks normally worn during the workout.
Fit the shoe to the largest foot. Many people have one foot that is larger than the other; shoes should be fitted to the longer and wider foot.
The forefoot should not be crowded; be sure the toes can extend.
Be sure there's a snug fit around the heel of the shoe.
Feet expand when bearing weight, so have your kids stand when getting their feet measured.
