Stroke Care

When a patient comes to the hospital with stroke symptoms, it’s crucial to make a proper diagnosis quickly in order to begin treatment to minimize the effects of a stroke. Salem Medical Center’s stroke care team delivers potentially life-saving care for ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, and can perform treatment options.

The hospital has been designated by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services as a Primary Stroke Center, which means that we have in place a specially trained acute stroke team available around the clock, and they respond to a patient within minutes of their arrival to the hospital.

We are a part of the Jefferson Neuroscience Network (JNN). This partnership offers patients access to the resources of JNN’s comprehensive stroke center, including community education programs, clinical trials and advanced protocols for the detection and treatment of stroke and other neuroscience disorders.

Diagnostic Imaging

Salem Medical Center offers a full range of imaging services to provide patients with diagnostic and therapeutic services. Our imaging and radiology services teams work with doctors, nurses and other clinicians to deliver comprehensive care. Our digital imaging technology allows doctors to access test results immediately, so treatment can begin more quickly.

Sleep Disorder Center

More than 70 million Americans suffer from sleep disorders. Sleep is essential for physical and mental renewal, and long-term sleep difficulties can lead to serious medical problems. Salem Medical Center’s sleep medicine doctors, sleep technologists and other clinicians are dedicated to helping you get a good night’s sleep. We offer diagnostic and treatment services for a wide range of sleep disorders.

The Sleep Center at Salem Medical Center performs sleep studies on children, starting at age 12, through adults. Sleep studies at the Sleep Center take place in comfortable, home-like rooms.

Located in the hospital’s main building, the center is a computerized diagnostic and treatment facility.

Digestive Health

A healthy digestive system is essential for the body to function properly. Salem Medical Center offers gastrointestinal services to help doctors diagnose and treat digestive issues.

Our gastroenterologists provide treatment options for a range of digestive disorders, including:

Wound Care

Salem Medical Center offers specialized, outpatient care for non-healing wounds. Our team of doctors, nurse practitioners and nurses provide treatments to promote healing of chronic wounds and help patients recover as quickly as possible.

The Salem Wound & Vascular Center offers advanced wound care by a multidisciplinary team of board certified physicians and a wound-care certified nurse as well as rehabilitation specialists. The center specializes in the treatment of chronic wounds that have resisted traditional therapy, such as diabetic foot ulcers, arterial/venous disease, pressure ulcers, patients with non-healing surgical or traumatic wounds and complex skin infections.
